Strengthening the Environment Community

UNEP provides systematic and targeted capacity building that covers the complete cycle of environmental assessment, policy development and law, and policy implementation under the Bali Strategic Plan for Technology Support, which was adopted in Bali, Indonesia on 4 December 2004.

At the national level, UNEP assists countries with capacity building for Integrated Environmental Assessments (IEA) and Action Plans and the preparation of National Strategies for Sustainable Development (NSDS). In the process, UNEP works closely with UN Resident Coordinators.
