UNEP works with environment ministries, intergovernmental agencies and civil society organizations in the five sub-regions to identify priorities and address common and transboundary issues. UNEP supports sub-regional intergovernmental bodies and processes such as the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), South Asia Cooperative Environment Programme (SACEP), and South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), Inter-State Sustainable Development Commission (ISDC), Tripartite Environmental Ministers Meeting (TEMM) and the South Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP). To avoid duplication and maximize delivery UNEP will work closely with
existing partners and advocates segmentation of UN agency responsibilities
to avoid duplication and enhance collaboration and delivery.
