The 4th Annual Tunza – Northeast Asia Youth Environment Network Conference
1-5 September 2008, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

More than 50 young people from China, Japan, Mongolia and the Republic of Korea will participate in the 4th annual Tunza – Northeast Asia Youth Environment Network (NEAYEN) Conference. Led by the UNEP Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific and sponsored by Bayer, the youth conference will be convened by the UNEP National Committee for the Republic of Korea and Institute for Future in Mongolia.

The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Youth Partnership on Climate Change in North East Asia’ which is known as the biggest challenge of our generation these days. By providing these youths their own unique forum for networking on future partnerships, the NEAYEN conference enables youth from North East Asia to come together for creative action on this global issue.

Youth participants will hear from experts from UNEP, government representatives and non-governmental organization. Information about the environmental situation in each of the four countries will be shared with participants. Action on climate change in Northeast Asia will be formulated by participating youths, as part of the NEAYEN work plan in 2008 - 2009. The conference also includes a cultural exchange programme and reviews on their TUNZA activities at global, regional and national levels.
