3RD Tunza-South East Asia Youth Environment Network Regional Conference

Thirty young people between the ages of 15-24 years old, will meet in Bali, Indonesia from 9-11 December 2007 for the 3rd Tunza-South East Asia Youth Environment Network (SEAYEN) Conference. During the conference, participants from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, will hear from experts about climate change in the region. Participants will also prepare a statement on climate change in the region and develop partnerships among youth gathered there for the future actions they would take in 2008. The newly developed SEAYEN website will be unveiled during the opening ceremony.
The conference is jointly organized by the UNEP Regional Office of the Asia and the Pacific and Bayer A.G, Singapore's National Youth Achievement Award Council (NYAA) and the International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA) of Bogor Agricultural University, Bogor, Indonesia.
SEAYEN is part of UNEP’s global Tunza programme to engage young people in environmental activities and in UNEP’s work. It is one of five UNEP youth environmental networks in Asia and the Pacific that encompasses the South Asia Youth Environment Network (SAYEN), North East Asia Youth Environment Network (NEAYEN), Pacific Youth Environment Network (PYEN), and the Central Asia Youth Environment Network (CAYEN).
